Doctor Sylwia Szewczyk, OD, is the founder and director of Ideal Family Eye Care, LTD Sylwia Szewczyk, OD & Associates. After graduating with honors from Loyola University Chicago with degree in Biology and minoring in Psychology, Dr. Szewczyk earned her doctorate of Optometry from another very prestigious Chicago school, the Illinois College of Optometry, where she mainly focused in Ocular Disease Treatment and Myopia Control in Children. She then completed internship training programs at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago studying complicated ocular disease cases and retinal problems, the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois, and the Tallahassee Veterans Health Center in Tallahassee, Florida where she mainly worked with blind and visually impaired patients. She received additional training in LASIK candidacy eye examinations and Cornea Specialty at Midwest Eye Professionals in Orland Park, Illinois, one of the leading Laser Eye Surgery centers in the state. She co-manages her patients with the best cataract surgeons and retina specialist in Chicago.
Dr. Szewczyk is fluent in English and Polish. She is a member of The Polish Medical Society, Lions Club, The American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, and The American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. Malgorzata Zolnierzow, OD
Dr. Malgorzata Zolnierzow joined Dr Sylwia Szewczyk at Ideal Family Eye Care in 2022
After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Health Science and her Master of Public Health in 2017 from Benedictine University Dr Zolnierzow obtained her doctorate in Optometry from the Western University of Health Science . She has a wide range of clinical experience ranging from working at the Mountain Home VA Hospital Veterans Affairs in Mountain Home Tennessee, The East Boston Community Health Center in Boston, MA, and at Eyetopia private practice in Denver, CO. These clinical experiences have provided her with diverse advanced knowledge in ocular disease, and vision disorders.
Dr Zolnierzow has a special interest in helping patients who have brain injuries, including concussions and mild traumatic brain injuries.
She works closely with neuro-optometrist at the Brain Vision Institute where she helps treat patients who have brain injuries and those with binocular vision disorders.
